Point-to-point Encryption of Card Data

When used with an Ingenico iSMP Companion or iCMP mobile payment terminal and NCR Secure Pay, CPMobile supports point to-point encryption (P2PE) of credit card data. Point-to-point encryption, also known as end-to-end encryption, ensures that card numbers and expiration dates are encrypted at the point of entry. Because encrypted card data can only be decrypted by NCR Secure Pay, unencrypted card data is never stored or accessible in CPMobile or NCR Counterpoint.

You must be using NCR Counterpoint V8.4.6.12 or V8.5.1 (or later) with NCR Secure Pay to use P2PE in CPMobile. P2PE is not supported for use with NCR Counterpoint Gateway (CPGateway).

To enable P2PE in CPMopbile, you must first configure your Ingenico mobile payment terminal.

Your iSMP Companion or iCMP payment terminal(s) must be updated to firmware version 13.04 or later to support P2PE.

When you process a credit card transaction using a P2PE-enabled iSMP or iCMP payment terminal, a lock icon appears next to the payment on the ClosedEnter payments screen.
