CPMobile 1.7 supports the use of User ID cards, which are specially-encoded magnetic stripe cards that allow users to log in to CPMobile without entering a user ID and password.
Each User ID card is encoded with a unique, encrypted identifier and an eight-digit card number, which is also printed on the card itself. Contact your NCR Retail Partner for more information about obtaining properly-encoded User ID cards from Card Marketing Services or another card vendor.
To allow users to log in to CPMobile with User ID cards, you must first assign a User ID card to each user in NCR Counterpoint. Each User ID card can only be assigned to one user at a time. Refer to the User ID cards topics in the current NCR CounterPoint Release Notes or the NCR Counterpoint online help for more information about assigning User ID cards to users.
When a User ID card has been assigned to a user, the user can swipe the card through a card reader (i.e., a "CPMobile sled" or an iMag Pro MSR) attached to a CPMobile device to log in to CPMobile, as well as to unlock a CPMobile device that has been locked due to inactivity.
Some CPMobile sled models (e.g., the Linea Pro 5) will enter "standby" mode if left idle for an extended period. If your sled is in standby mode, you will not be able to log in to CPMobile by swiping a user ID card. To turn on your sled, press and hold the scan button until you hear a single beep.
